About

Riley Hospital is a 140-bed healthcare facility located in Meridian, Mississippi, and is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

Riley Hospital was founded in 1930 by Dr. Franklin Gail Riley, a native of Tupelo, Mississippi. A forward thinking physician for his time, Dr. Riley developed an interest in pediatrics after serving in World War I. Upon completion of his residency at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Riley made plans to move to Birmingham, Alabama, but then learned that Mississippi had no practicing pediatricians. So in 1922, he came to Meridian as the first full-time pediatrician in the state.

From the small 10-bed hospital founded by Dr. Riley to the acute care medical complex of today, Riley Hospital has been dedicated to serving the East Mississippi and West Alabama region with the highest quality of care possible. Our physicians represent a broad array of specialty areas, and our staff is well trained and committed to a future of providing our patients with professional medical care that is attuned to meeting each individual's needs.

Our Tom C. Maynor Rehabilitation Center is the region's only comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation facility, providing 24-hour care to patients including physical, occupational and speech therapy. As a Stroke Treatment Center, Riley offers a unique team of physicians, nurses and therapists who are specially trained to treat stroke patients.

For expectant mothers, there's no place like Riley's WomanCare Birth Place to make their baby's "birth day" special. The private, comfortable, home-like atmosphere of our birthing rooms allow mothers the chance to experience labor, delivery and recovering all in the same room.

Serving as a community resource is very important to us at Riley Hospital, so we offer seminars, screenings and health fairs throughout the year to increase awareness of health-related issues. Offering high-tech healthcare with a hometown touch is what Riley Hospital is all about.
