Continuing a tradition that started many years ago, Riley Hospital is honoring its physicians by adopting foster children and providing Christmas gifts for them. Wesley House, the local clearing house for community aid organizations, provided the list of 100 foster children ranging in age from newborn to 18 years. Riley Hospital employees selected a child’s name and then received a gift card to a local retail store to purchase items the child requested. Many employees were generous enough to spend additional money of their own. Altogether, the hospital and its employees will have spent over $6,000 on gifts for the foster children.
The Employee Christmas Party will be held on Friday, December 12, at 2:00 p.m. in the Riley Hospital Cafeteria as a time to gather the gifts and celebrate the season. The Wesley Belles will be entertaining at the party.
