Riley Breast Imaging utilizes the most technologically advanced digital mammography equipment and R2 ImageChecker enhancement.
Digital mammography shows great promise in the fight against breast cancer. Computers and specially designed digital detectors produce images that appear on the technologist's monitor in a matter of seconds. The radiologist can view and manipulate the images on high-resolution computer monitors that enhance visualization of the structures within the breast tissue. They can also adjust brightness and contrast, and zoom in on specific areas to help detect small calcifications, masses, and other changes that may be signs of early cancer.

In conjunction with the digital mammography unit, Riley Breast Imaging also offers ImageChecker, which provides a "second read" of the mammogram by a computer. ImageChecker highlights any suspicious areas that warrant a second review by the radiologist.
To make mammograms more comfortable, Riley Hospital mammography technicians use a soft, foam cushion called a MammoPad. The MammoPad is an adhesive-backed, single-use cushion that provides soft, warm padding and eases discomfort during the procedure.
Should further diagnostic testing be required, Riley Breast Imaging offers non-invasive options. Stereotactic breast biopsy allows a precise sample of a breast lump to be removed through the use of a needle instead of an open surgical incision.
