Serving with warm smiles and heartfelt care
Riley Hospital's Team of Volunteers
Some of our most dedicated people at Riley Hospital are our volunteers. Often times, they are the first person a patient sees when entering the hospital and one of the last people they say goodbye to when they are discharged.
Our volunteers come from the local community and generously donate their time to serve the patients, their families, visitors and hospital staff. They deliver mail, flowers, books and magazines. They escort patients, staff the information desk and/or work as unit
volunteers. They give of themselves unselfishly and radiate a warmth and cheerfulness throughout the hospital.
Through fund-raising, our volunteers help provide toys and equipment for patient units and scholarships for nursing students at Meridian Community College.
Who Can Be A Volunteer?
Anyone 18 years of age or older can serve as a volunteer. Our team is comprised of men and women of all ages and backgrounds. During the summer, we have a special Teen Volunteer Program for young people who want to participate in community service or learn more about the environment of a hospital.
How Can You Become A Volunteer?
Serving as a Riley Hospital volunteer can prove to be a very rewarding experience. Special luncheons and activities are planned for the volunteers and quarterly meetings are held.
